Among the many tools of daily life, one familiar item is the “vessel.”

Whether you’re eating a meal, drinking tea or sake, or arranging flowers, vessels appear in all kinds of everyday moments, quietly supporting our way of life.

And behind every item, there are always human hands involved in its creation.
From clay as the raw material,
it’s refined, kneaded, shaped, glazed, fired in a kiln, and then carefully finished through carving.

Through this repeated process,
a “vessel” comes into being.
Who made it, and what thoughts or feelings did they have as they faced their craft in pottery?
It is through these encounters, this serendipity, that a “vessel” comes into being.

Each one is filled with countless untold stories―stories you might never guess just by looking at the finished piece.

“To meet people, to encounter things.”

Even when we become grandmothers and grandfathers,
even when the next generation takes over, we want to offer vessels that never lose their charm.
